"Erase it"

This poem is about one of my best friends, I've known him since I can remember, and I'm so worried about him...I don't know what to do

"Erase it"

We laughed, we cried,
we made our friendship strong.
Things change,
and so did you.
You try to erase the sadness,
it got out of hand,
and just can't take it.
I didn't understand.
Not now, not then.
You were going to give up,
to drink it all away,
to smoke it all away.
But it isn't enough for you.
Today, tomorrow, you could be gone.
There's nothing I can do,
you will never listen.
You try to erase the sadness,
it got out of hand.
You just can't take it,
and neither can I.
